Choosing Campervan Flooring: Vinyl, Rubber or Gel Back Carpet

When specifying a floor for a campervan or trade conversion, consider the desired finish, the floor layout, the fitting method and the space available at doors and edges. Atlas offers vinyl flooring, patterned rubber matting, gel back carpet and selected pre-cut floors.

Vinyl flooring: speckle or wood effect

Speckle vinyl flooring is available in Black, Dark Grey and Light Grey, with full rolls measuring 2m × 30m. Wood effect vinyl is 2m wide with Golden Oak, Silver Oak and Fumed Oak finishes. Check the product options and confirm the required roll length before placing a wood effect flooring order.

Use a sample to compare the pattern with your furniture and upholstery. Plan the direction of the finish and the position of joins before cutting.

Rubber matting: compare pattern, width and thickness

The rubber flooring range includes bar, coin, ribbed and checker patterns. Current options include 15m rolls in 1.5m or 1.8m widths, with 3mm, 4mm and 5mm thickness choices. Open the individual listing to select the combination you need.

Check the complete floor build-up and the available clearance at doors, trims and thresholds. Order a sample when you need to assess the surface pattern and feel. Confirm any performance or installation specification required for the vehicle's intended use with the team.

Gel back carpet

Gel back carpet comes in Black or Anthracite, with High Range and Mid Range choices. Full rolls measure 2m × 30m, and sample options are available. Compare a sample with the other interior materials before selecting the range.

Pre-cut floors

Pre-cut floor options include VW T5, T6 and T7 in short and long wheelbase configurations. Confirm the vehicle model, wheelbase, layout and selected finish before ordering. A vehicle family name alone is not enough to establish the correct fit.

How to estimate your order

  1. Measure the floor and sketch its shape, including steps and wheel arches.
  2. Choose the finish and note the available roll width.
  3. Plan cuts and joins, allowing material for trimming and fitting waste.
  4. Check the substrate, adhesive or fixing method and total floor thickness.
  5. Confirm quantities, availability and delivery for the project schedule.

Roll area is a starting point, not a guaranteed usable coverage figure. Follow the flooring and adhesive manufacturers' instructions for the selected materials.
